Goal
Contribute to the raising of problems in the field of personal data protection in Armenia and the process of implementing reforms through the study of individual cases and the general legislative framework.
Context
The state of personal data protection in Armenia is quite problematic. Furthermore, it is problematic in several directions: citizens are not informed about their rights, the state does not fulfill its obligations, no recovery activities are carried out in the direction of violations, the judicial system examines a small number of cases, despite the daily obvious and strict violations.
The issue of the need to protect personal data remains relevant, especially in those organizations that conduct activities related to personal data using the latest information technologies, as well as those organizations that, having acquired certain personal data for the purposes and procedures established by law, are able to use them for other purposes. For example, banks, credit and insurance organizations, travel companies, communication operators, store chains, etc.
